Big Idea: God’s name isn’t just a label, it’s a revelation of His character, power, and presence.
God’s name represents who He is.
Why is God’’s name such a big deal?
1. God’s name reveals His character. YAHWEH - self-existent, eternal, unchanging. (Isaiah 42:8)
2. God’s name represents His presence and power. EL SHADDAI - all sufficient one, powerful to bless and sustain. (Acts 4:12; Proverbs 18:12; Matt 18:20; Psalm 20:7; Rom 5:6-8)
3. God’s name guarantees His promise. (Joshua 21; 2 Cor 1:20a; Num 23:19; Deut 31:6)

Three Questions to Consider:
1. Do you know God’s name, or just know about it? God wants to have a relationship with you.
2. Where do you run for safety? We need to lay our circumstances at God’s feet.
3. Do you trust His name in your daily life?
PRACTICAL CHALLENGE:
Identify one specific area (work pressure, family struggle, personal fear, financial worry, etc.) where you will intentionally “run into His name” this week.
Practice declaring His character out loud over it: “God, You are faithful, God, You are my protector, God, You are present with me.”

Big Idea: God’s Name demands honor - so honor His Name with your words and your life. (Philippians 2:9-11 - “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the Name that is above every name, so that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”)
Because God’s Name is His identity:
1. God’s Name demands honor (Ex 20:7 - “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.) (Matt 6:9 - “Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name.)
“in vain” - empty, meaningless, worthless, false or deceptive
“hallowed” - set apart, sacred, treated with the ultimate respect see Psalm 1:8a
“take” - to lift up, to bear, to carry
“name” - God’s identity, character, and reputation
2. Christ followers honor God’s Name by how we carry it. (Matt 12:34b - For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.) Don’t carry, bear, or represent God’s Name in a way that is empty, worthless, false, worthless or disrespectful.
How are you carrying God’s Name right now? How about when no one else is listening? Col 3:17; 1 Peter 2:12; Gal 2:20

A message from the series "Summer Roadtrip Playlist." Psalm 121 Hope for the Road Ahead
Big Idea: Our ultimate help doesn’t come from our surroundings, circumstances, or self-sufficiency. It comes from the Lord, who watches over us.
God leverages our circumstances for our good and His Glory.
Three truths about God’s help in our lives:
1. God is the Creator (vs 1-2). God sustains and controls everything He created. Where are you looking for help right now, your own strength, others’ approval, financial security, or from God? How does remembering God as Creator reshape your perspective on your current struggles?
2. God is the Protector (vs 3-4). God is always present and is always watching over us. Do you live as if God is actually watching over every step you take? How would your anxiety change if you really trusted God to never take His eyes off of you? God goes with you and protects you and prepares the way.
3. God is the Preserver (vs 5-7). Romans 8:38-39; John 10:28. How do you define “harm”? Is it only physical and circumstantial, or is it eternal? How does trusting God as Preserver free you to live with courage instead of fear?
If God is these things for you, then your possible next steps are:
1. Shift your focus (Psalm 121:1-2) Look up, not around.
2. Pray before you act (Philippians 4:6-7).
3.Rest in God’s watchfulness (Matthew 11:28-30).
4. Live courageously (Romans 8:31).
If God is for us, who or what could be against us?

Big Idea: Gratitude shifts your focus and strengthens your soul.
We worship god for who He is, not how we feel.
David’s masterclass in fighting spiritual amnesia:
1. Worship God for His benefits (Rev 21:4;Col 1:13-14; 1Jn 3:1)
2. Worship God for His character (Psalm 130:3-4)
God’s righteousness is all encompassing! God deals with
us through His character, not by what we deserve.
3. Worship god for His love. (John 14:16a & 17b)
Have you experienced God’s love personally? If so, how?
Three practical next steps:
1. Make your own list of God’s benefits in your life.
2. Start your day with praise.
3. Turn your complaints into gratitude. (James 1: 2-4, 12, 19-21)

Big Idea: Life is short, wisdom is living with eternity in mind.
In order to keep this life in perspective, remember:
1. God is God and I am not (vs 1-2) Our lives on earth are short and fragile. (Isaiah 40:28; Rom 3:23, 5:12, 6:23; 2 Cor 5:21; Ja 4:14). How would your view of time and purpose change if you started each day remembering that God is eternal and you are not? What distractions or pursuits are keeping you from investing in what truly matters?
2. God invites you to live with wisdom. (v12) We need to prioritize what really matters (Eph 5:15). Only two things last forever, us and God’s Word. What intentional step could you take this week to live with eternal perspective?
3. God redeems and leverages our time (v17). We cannot determine how long we live, but we can determine how well we live (Phil 1:16). Numbering your days doesn’t mean counting the minutes, it means making the minutes count. Are you looking to temporary accomplishments for meaning, or to God’s love and lasting purpose?
What will you do with Jesus?

Big Idea: When we encounter God’s love for us, we will delight in Him through all of life’s circumstances.
Is you heart in love with God? (James 1:12; Rom 8:28; 1 Cor 8:3) See also 1 John 4:19.
Four effects of realizing the greatness of God’s love in your life:
1. Your relationship with God becomes a consuming addiction, not a convenient addition. (Phil 1:21; Luke 14:26)
2. Your worship moves from duty to delight. Do you long to worship God? (Psalm 63:1, 3-4; Romans 5:8) What will you do with Jesus?
3. You follow Jesus to get Jesus, not stuff (Prosperity, fame etc). Do you worship the gifts, or the Gift-giver?
4. Your wilderness experiences become worship experiences. (Vs 9-11)

You can worship God from down in the pit!

Big Idea: Repentance isn’t about guilt; it’s about getting back to grace.

Culture often cancels what God wants to redeem. What do you do after you fail? Do you run away from God’s presence, or do you run toward it?

When you fall short and sin as a Christ follower, understand:
1. God receives honest confession and cleanses your guilty heart.
Numbers 32:23; Galatians 6:7; 1 John 1:9; Titus 3:5
God loves you where you are, but He loves you too much to leave you there.
2. God renews and rebuilds my heart in repentance.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Being made new by Jesus isn’t about behavior modification, it’s about heart transformation. Is your heart’s desire for Jesus above everything else?
3. God restores my joy and purpose in repentance.
If you don’t have joy in Jesus, you haven’t met Jesus!
God wants a broken heart, not a perfect performance.
Your failure can become someone else’s freedom when God redeems it.
Repentance is not a shame walk, it’s a faith walk.

Questions to consider:
What are you tempted to hide instead of confess? Why is it hard to come clean? Do you believe God has actually made you clean, or do you still carry guilt that He’s already forgiven?
Are you asking God just to remove guilt, or to change you from the inside out?
Where has guilt been stealing your joy? What would it look like to live forgiven and free?

A message from the series "Summer Roadtrip Playlist." Big Idea: When your soul feels dry, hope in God brings refreshment.
Spiritual thirst isn’t a failure, it’s a signal. Does your soul “pant” for God, or something else?

When you face a spiritual and emotional wilderness, remember:
1. God invites honesty in spiritual drought. v3-5a
What have you been afraid to admit to God lately? How might you create space this week to be real with God through ‘pouring out your heart’? (Psalm 62:8; Lamentations 2:19)
2. God anchors our hope in who He is, not how I feel. v5b-6, 11a
Are you relying more on your feelings, or on God’s faithfulness right now? What truth about God do you need to speak over your own soul this week? (Psalm 34:18, Jn 7:37, 1 Pet 5:7) Just because God is silent doesn’t meant mean He’s absent. Your present situation does not reflect how God feels about you. (Heb 10:23)
3. God meet us in the depths. v7
What ‘depths’ are you currently facing? Can you recall a time when God met you in a hard or hidden place? What was that like? (Matthew 1:23, John 14, Matthew 28:20b)
4. God’s love remains constant. v8
When have you sensed God’s love, even during a spiritually dry season? What might it look like to rest in His love, instead of striving this week? (Lamentations 3:22; Zephaniah 3;17)
Drought does not disqualify you from God’s love!

Big Idea: When fear chases you down, confidence in God gives you strength.
What FEAR is chasing after you right now or recently?
Who is the Lord to you in your life? Do you live it?
For David, the Lord is:
1. My light (truth and purity) (“God is with you.”) Psalm 119:105; John 8:12. Where in your life right now do you feel like you’re “walking in the dark”? We need to trust God in our next step. God’s presence in our lives illuminates our path. God leads and guides us where He wants us to go.
2. My salvation (“God will deliver you.”) Ex 14:13a; Psalm 118:6. What fear are you trying to fix on your own, instead of surrendering to God? How would your response to fear change if you truly trusted God to save you? God saves us in order to transform us. Do you trust God beyond eternity, in your day-to-day circumstances?
3. My stronghold (“You’re already secure.”) Proverbs 18:10 What “strongholds” are you tempted to run to that aren’t God (e.g., control, success, escape)? How can you intentionally run to God as your stronghold this week? Are you overwhelmed with who God is? If you trust God, you will be blessed despite your circumstances.
Fear may follow you, but God’s goodness leads you.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Psalm 27:14
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Big Idea: God’s presence provides peace for our journey. We are redeemed for God’s glory. Peace comes from staying close to the Shepherd.
The Lord is our Shepherd and King who is our :
1. Provider (23:1-3) also see John 10:11, 27-28
v1 - God ALWAYS gives us EXACTLY what we need, EXACTLY when we we need it.
v2 - God gives us rest and peace (Sabbath).
v3 - God gives us direction and purpose.
2. Protector (23: 4-5)
v4 - God gives us protection form harm and evil, and comforts us.
v5 - God satisfies us through all of our circumstances. “God’s strength in your valley IS His presence in your circumstances”.
3. Promise Keeper (23: 6) also see John 10:10b
v6 - God gives us abundant life. God gives us His forgiveness.
Four things to consider:
1. Where do you need to stop striving and start resting in God?
2. Are you carrying the weight of trying to fix everything yourself?
3. Are you stuck in a valley, wondering where God is?
4. Are all of your “check engine lights” on, and you're still trying to push through?
