BIG IDEA: In Christ, you don’t have to earn your place in God’s family, you already belong.
What kind of relationship do you think God wants to have with you? Do you really have a place with God? Are you living as God’s child, or are you still trying to earn your place?
What changes when God Becomes Your Father?
1. Jesus gives us a new place to belong to (vs 3-5). Jesus came to bring us into his family.
2. God gives us a new relationship to enjoy (vs 6-7). Your earthly father may shape your view of God, but he doesn’t define the heart of God.
3. God gives a new freedom to live in (vs 8-11). You are no longer a slave to sin. We don’t obey to become God’s children, we obey because we are God’s children.
4. God gives us a new life to grow into (vs 12-20). Security in Jesus becomes the soil where transformation grows.
Three questions to move beyond Sunday:
1. What are you still trying to prove to God? He chose you because He loves you!
2. When you fail, do you run to God, or away from Him? (See Hebrews 4:16) You cannot hide from God, so instead approach Him with boldness and humility.
3. Are you living from your place in God’s family? Stop trying to find a way to earn a spot where you already belong.

BIG IDEA: Where are you finding your identity?
Hello, my name is _______, and I am a ______.
1. God’s promise does not depend on your performance (vs 15-18). A promise depends on the faithfulness of the one who made the promise.
2. The Law shows our need for Jesus (vs 19-24). The Law can only show us that we fall short. Only Jesus can make it right.
3. Faith in Christ gives us a new identity (vs 25-29). A lot of things describe you. Only Jesus gets to define you.
Your worth is not determined by what you achieve, but by whose you are.

Galatians 3: 1-14
BIG IDEA: The Gospel frees us from living like we have to earn salvation.
THE GOPEL FREES US FROM EARNING
1. We begin by faith, not by performance (vs 1-5). Effort is not the enemy, earning is.
2. Faith has always been God’ way (vs 6-9). We are justified by faith, not by works.
3. Performance can never make us right with God (vs 10-12). Our faith is counted as righteousness.
4. Jesus accomplished what we can never do. (vs 13-14). Our debt is paid in full. You cannot earn what Jesus has already secured | “It is finished”.
Three questions to move beyond Sunday:
1. Are you still trying to make payments on God’s grace? You cannot pay for a gift.
2. What is motivating your obedience? Obey out of love, not out of obligation.
3. Where do I need to depend on the Spirit instead of yourself? Examine yourself daily, learn to be transparent before God.

A message from the series "Free Indeed." 09/27/2026 | Free Indeed | Free From People-pleasing | Galatians 2: 11-21

BIG IDEA: When Christ defines who you are, other people no longer have to.
THE GOSPEL FREES US FROM LIVING FOR APPROVAL
1. People pleasing makes us live inconsistently (vs 11-14). The Gospel is supposed to reshape how we live right now. In Jesus, we have nothing left to prove.
2. The Gospel removes our need to prove ourselves (vs 15-16). We are not accepted by God because we performed well enough, we are accepted by faith in Jesus.
3. The Gospel ends the performance (vs 17-19).
4.Our identity is now found in Jesus (vs 20-21). When Christ defines who we are, no one else has to.
Three questions to move beyond Sunday…
1. Whose approval has too much power in your life?
2. Where are you tempted to pretend?
3. Who gets the final say as to who you are?

A message from the series "Free Indeed." 09/20/2026 | Free Indeed | Free To Defend The Gospel | Galatians 2:1-10

BIG IDEA: The Gospel is worth protecting because adding anything to Jesus takes away the freedom Jesus gives us.
Jesus is enough.

Hold the Gospel tightly.
Hold convictions carefully.
Hold preferences loosely.

When the Gospel is at stake:
1. Protect the Gospel (vs 1-5). Not every disagreement deserves a fight, but the Gospel is always worth protecting.
2. Hold truth with humility (vs 6-9). Biblical unity is being centered together around Jesus and His Gospel.
3. Let the Gospel unite (vs 7-9). One Gospel, one mission.
4. Let the Gospel produce love (v10). Gospel truth should produce Gospel love. Stand firm against those who try to change the Gospel.

Three questions to move beyond Sunday:
1. Have you turned a preference into a Gospel issue?
2. Have you treated a Gospel issue into a preference? Doctrine matters.
3. Why are you taking that particular stand?

BIG IDEA: Grace forgives our past and gives us an entirely new story.

When Grace changes your story:
1. Grace meets you where you are (vs 13-14). Grace allows us to tell the truth about our past, without continuing to live under its control.
2. Grace changes your direction ( vs 15-16). We are taken from a life of separation from God to a life with God as our destination.
3. Grace gives you a new center. (Vs 16-20). Christianity is about being made new in Christ. It’s about receiving god’s gift of grace.
4. Grace points your story to God. (vs 21-24). How we go through the hard times proves the authenticity of our faith.

Who gets the final word on our story?
1. What part of your resume are you still letting define you?
2. Let grace reframe your past.
3. Let your story point you to Jesus. You can’t change your past, but Jesus can change the place your past occupies in your future.

BIG IDEA: The Gospel is too important to change
Jesus has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.

THE GOSPEL WE CANNOT CHANGE:
1. The Gospel is something we receive, not something we create (vs 1-5).
The Gospel frees us from trying to earn God’s favor. The Gospel is the Good News about what Jesus has done, not what we do. Salvation is God’s work.
2. Adding to the Gospel changes the Gospel (vs 6-9). Jesus plus anything equals nothing. Jesus plus nothing equals everything.
3. The Gospel must matter more than the approval of people (v 10). Jesus gave Himself for our sins to rescue us, and salvation is received by grace through faith in Him.

MAKING IT PERSONAL:
1. What are you actually trusting in? “God accepts me because…”
2. Identify your ‘Jesus plus’. I know Jesus is enough, but sometimes I live as though I also need …
3. Trust in Christ alone. He is sufficient for everything.

Matthew 7:13-14
Big Idea: Jesus isn’t just the only way to life; He is the only way to live.
1. Two ways (paths) lead to two destinations. See Luke 9:23 & Rom 3:23. “Enter by the narrow gate…” - Matthew 7:13 Every road leads somewhere. The issue isn’t how good we are, it’s about what path we are on.
2. Only Jesus leads us to the Father. “I am the way…No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6 We couldn’t find a way to God, so He made a way for us! See Romans 6:23
3. Only Jesus gives us life. “Whoever abides in me…bears much fruit…” John 15:5 Only Jesus can give you what your soul is looking for.

The better question is are we actually living like we believe that Jesus is the only way?

A message from the series "Asking for a Friend." 08/23/2026 Asking For A Friend | Can I Lose My Salvation?
John 10:27-30

Your salvation is not secured by the strength of your grip on Jesus, but by the strength of His grip on you.

What it means to belong to the Shepherd:
1. Salvation begins with Jesus. v27a Jesus found us, we didn’t find Him. See John 6:44 & John 4:19
2. Eternal life is Jesus’ promise toHis sheep. v28 See Romans 6:23; 8:38-39.
3. Our sin cannot undo what the Cross accomplished. v29 See Heb 10:12; Romans 8:1; Col 2:14; Phil 1:6 …But Jesus…
4. Genuine salvation produces genuine change v27b See Eph 2;8; 2 Cor 5:17. The fruit of your life reveals what has taken root in your heart. Is there evidence your life of spiritual life in Jesus?

The better question is “Who is keeping you saved?” You, or Jesus?

So, how do we respond?
1. Stop looking at yourself for assurance.
2. When you fail, run to Jesus. See 1 John 1:9
3. Rest is His grip.

A message from the series "Asking for a Friend." 08/16/2026 Asking For A Friend | Why does God allow good people to suffer?
John 9:1-3

When suffering doesn’t make sense, can I still trust the goodness of God?
We suffer because we live in a broken world. None of us gets through life without suffering. God is good, God is near. Suffering is not the end.

John 9 - The Man Born Blind - what we need to understand about suffering.
1. Suffering is part of a broken world. Not all suffering is punishment. Not all suffering is caused by sin, but all suffering exists because we live in a world broken by sin.
2. God can bring good out of what is broken. (See Rom 8:28) God doesn’t have to call something good in order to bring good from it.
3. God entered our suffering. (See John 1: 1-4a & 1 Peter 3:18a)
4. Suffering will not have the final word. (See Rev 21:4). Can I trust God when I don’t understand why He allows me to suffer?

In the face of pain and suffering:
1. Be honest about your pain
2. Look to the Cross. The Cross does not explain everything God allows, but it settles whether God loves us.
3. Trust God with what you don’t understand.

I don’t know why it happened, but I do trust the One who allows it to happen.
