ClosePride | Daniel 4 Pride is recognized by an air of arrogant haughtiness, thinking that what we do, say or think matters the most. 1. Allure of pride: pride makes us think that we are in control. 2. Sneakiness of pride: our personal motive for doing good circumvents the good we do (jealousy and being easily offended, for example). 3. Confusion of pride: we have a wrong perspective on things that makes us unteachable and unable to grow (Proverbs 26:2). 4. Destruction of pride: pride interferes with our relationship with God. Pride is idolatry, it leads to selfishness, ingratitude, coveting, and envy. Pride robs us of joy and makes us unable to have compassion for others. (Micah 6:8; Phil 2:8). We deserve God’s wrath and judgment, but what we get is God’s love, His grace, His mercy, and His forgiveness.
