Big Idea:Real freedom is found in Christ alone!
The freedom that we haven Christ means we are:
1. Rooted in Christ, not rules (vs 6-7). Your relationship with God starts with a person, not a system. Following Jesus is a marathon, not a sprint. (John 15:4) Maturity doesn’t happen by default, it’s Spirit-led.
2. Freed from empty philosophy (vs 8-15). Jesus + nothing = everything. Jesus is sufficient in and for all things.
3. Freed from legalism and empty religion (vs 16-23). The Law was fulfilled in Jesus. The Law is a silhouette of Jesus.
What is your next step to live in the reality of the freedom you have in Christ?
1. Identify the counterfeits. Where are you tempted to rely on rules, rituals, or spiritual fads instead of Christ? Call it out!
2. Stay rooted in Christ. Set aside daily time this week to be in His Word and in prayer, not to check off a box but to deepen your roots.
3. Live like you’re forgiven. Stop carrying guilt that Jesus has already nailed to the Cross. Confess it, release it, and rest in His grace.
4. Choose freedom over performance. Serve, obey, and love, not to earn God’s favor, but because you already have it in Christ.
