Generous: Living a Giving Lifestyle
Proverbs 3:9-10
Big Idea: What we give first reveals what we trust most.
God doesn’t need us to give. What does it look like to honor God with what comes first, not from what’s left over? Left over giving isn’t usually intentional, but it’s always revealing.
First Fruit Giving:
1. First fruits is about honor and trust. God loves us for giving faithfully, not for giving more. (Matthew 6:21) Generosity is not about money, it’s about the heart.
2. First fruits means first, not leftover. First fruits requires faith, not abundance. First fruits is not emotional generosity, it’s intentional trust. (Genesis 4:4) Do you give like Cain, or do you give like Abel?
3. First fruits is not a prosperity promise. Trust God first, and He will prove Himself to you over time. Sometimes, His blessings are provisional. God promises faithfulness, not financial stability. (Romans 8:32; 1 Corinthians 15:20).
How is God speaking to you right now about His First Fruits principle? Does your heart dictate how much you give, or is it just another expense? Do you give out of trust, or do you give out of obligation?
What if generosity was about more than just money?
In this series, Live Generously, we’ll explore how God calls us to live with open hands in every area of life. From our finances to our time to our God-given gifts, Scripture shows us that generosity is not a one-time act, it’s a way of life shaped by trust in God.
Together, we’ll look at:
• What it means to honor God with our first and best
• How New Testament generosity flows from grace, not guilt
• Why our time is one of the most valuable gifts we steward
• How God has uniquely gifted each of us to serve others and build His church
This series is an invitation to rethink what generosity really looks like, and to discover the joy, freedom, and purpose that come when we stop holding back and start living generously.
05/10/2026 Strong and Courageous | Walls Fall When God Leads
Joshua 6
Big Idea: Victory belongs to God, but obedience belongs to us.
When God’s ways don’t seem to make sense, remember they’re shaping faith in you.
1. God’s leading, you’re following. God is not trying to win a battle as much as He’s trying to form a people who will continue to trust Him. (Prov 3:5-6) We believe God can leverage the wall in front of us, but we struggle to trust how He chooses to do it. (Isaiah 55:8)
2. God is transforming you in the process. God often does his deepest work in you, before He does His visible work through you.
3. God is working even when you don’t see it. God is working while you are obediently walking. (Gal 6:9)
Four clarifying questions to help you walk in obedience:
1. What wall are you staring at right now? You cannot defeat what you will not define.
2. What obedience step is God asking from you that doesn’t make sense? Do you really believe that Jesus is enough for you?
3. Where do you need to keep walking? Faith is an EVERY DAY thing.
4. What victory do you need to surrender back to God? Give God the credit and the glory that only he deserves.
