Ultimately - Joseph’s story is God’s story. It’s a story of God’s faithfulness. It’s a story of Joseph walking faithfully, by God’s power, in all things and trusting that God is in control: Faithful in mistreatment; Faithful in temptation; Faithful in being forgotten. Faithful in good times and, ultimately, faithful for a lifetime.

BIG IDEA: The Gospel is worth protecting because adding anything to Jesus takes away the freedom Jesus gives us.
Jesus is enough.
Hold the Gospel tightly.
Hold convictions carefully.
Hold preferences loosely.
When the Gospel is at stake:
1. Protect the Gospel (vs 1-5). Not every disagreement deserves a fight, but the Gospel is always worth protecting.
2. Hold truth with humility (vs 6-9). Biblical unity is being centered together around Jesus and His Gospel.
3. Let the Gospel unite (vs 7-9). One Gospel, one mission.
4. Let the Gospel produce love (v10). Gospel truth should produce Gospel love. Stand firm against those who try to change the Gospel.
Three questions to move beyond Sunday:
1. Have you turned a preference into a Gospel issue?
2. Have you treated a Gospel issue into a preference? Doctrine matters.
3. Why are you taking that particular stand?
